Regular Season Round 3: Targu Mures - Agronomia 70-55

There was a minor upset when Agronomia (0-1) was defeated on the road by Targu Mures (1-1) 70-55. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Mures. Agronomia was better in second period 18-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Targu Mures won last quarter 25-11. Targu Mures outrebounded Agronomia 47-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jasmyne Harris (173-1997, college: Houston) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds. Her fellow American import swingman Tazsa Garrett-Hammett (180, college: UWA) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Targu Mures players scored in double figures. Targu Mures' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Mihaela Panait (169-2005) came up with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Anca Sipos (185-1985) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Agronomia in the defeat. Targu Mures will play against Constanta (#7) on the road in the next round. Agronomia will play against Sf.Gheorghe and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
