Regular Season Round 4: Domzale - Celje 27-99

SKL top team - Celje (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Domzale (0-4) 99-27. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Domzale to just 3 points in second quarter and to 11 points in first half. Celje held Domzale to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Celje forced 35 Domzale turnovers and outrebounded them 56-25 including a 26-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Domzale's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of Australian Taylah Simmons (185-1997, college: Southeastern) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Mojca Jelenc (200-2003) who added 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Celje players scored in double figures. At the losing side Italian power forward Laura Medeot (183-2003) responded with 2 points and 8 rebounds and center Dora Mlakar (182-1996) scored 4 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celje have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Domzale at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Celje will play against league's second-placed Ilrija in Ljubljana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Domzale will play on the road against Maribor (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
