Date: October 22, 2022
BSL top team - Gmunden Swans (4-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (0-4) 84-70. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Kapfenberg Bulls managed to win third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Kapfenberg Bulls turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Urald King (198-1990, college: SE Oklahoma) who scored that evening 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) supported him with 12 points and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks by American center Brad Greene (210-1998, college: UC Irvine) did not help to save the game for Kapfenberg Bulls. Guard Miro Zapf (189-2003) added 10 points and 4 assists for lost side. Gmunden Swans have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with UBSC Graz. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Gmunden Swans will meet at home league's second-placed UBSC Graz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kapfenberg Bulls will play against Nord Dragonz (#10) in Eisenstadt and hope to get finally their first victory.
