Regular Season Round 4: Constanta - Targu Mures 81-50

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Constanta and 7th ranked Targu Mures had identical 1-1 record. This time Constanta used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Targu Mures 81-50 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Constanta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Targu Mures to just 3 points in third quarter. Constanta dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Targu Mures' 28. Constanta forced 20 Targu Mures turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Targu Mures' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Naomi Davenport (180, college: WVU) who helped to win the game recording 7 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and international guard Alina Podar (178-1998) who added 21 points during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Jasmyne Harris (173-1997, college: Houston) responded with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian swingman Vita Horobets (180-1996, agency: BIG) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Constanta (2-1) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Targu Secuiesc. Newly promoted Targu Mures keep the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Cluj Napoca. Constanta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Targu Mures will play against Rapid (#3) and hope to win that game.
