Regular Season Round 4: Perkunas - Plunges 96-76

There was no surprise in Kaunas where bottom-ranked Plunges (0-5) was crushed by sixth ranked Perkunas (3-1) 96-76 on Saturday. Plunges was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Perkunas dominated on the defensive end, holding Plunges to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Martynas Mejaras (-2005) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and Simas Sliogeris (-2005) who added 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. Perkunas' coach Modestas Bizys let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Nojus Radzius (174-2005) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Matas Vysniauskas scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Perkunas and five Plunges players scored in double figures. Perkunas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Panevezio and VKKM. Loser Plunges still closes the standings with five games lost. Perkunas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kaunas to the arena Zalgiris I.
