Regular Season Round 4: Focsani - Constanta 63-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Focsani (1-3) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Constanta (1-1) 74-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Constanta. Focsani managed to win third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Focsani 39-25 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lithuanian Vytenis Cizauskas (187-1992) fired 8 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Lithuanian center Egidijus Mockevicius (208-1992, college: Evansville) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Monyea Pratt (196-1985, college: Stillman) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import Brandon Austin (196-1995, college: Samford) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Constanta left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Nationala. Loser Focsani dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Constanta will meet at home Laguna S. (#9) in the next round. Focsani will play against the league's second-placed Galati and hope to win that game.
