Regular Season Round 4: Pitesti - Craiova 79-71

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when ninth ranked Pitesti (1-2) defeated at home bottom-ranked Craiova (0-2) 79-71 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Craiova won third quarter 21-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Trey Freeman (189-1992, college: ODU) fired 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian center Nikola Jevtovic (209-1989) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Pitesti players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Giordan Watson (179-1985, college: CMU, agency: BeoBasket) produced 14 points and 9 assists and Serbian center Dimitrije Nikolic (212-1997) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pitesti left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Nationala. Loser Craiova still closes the standings with two games lost. Pitesti will meet higher ranked Sibiu (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Craiova will have a break next round.
