Regular Season Round 4: SKM I - Panevezio 94-71

The biggest surprise took place in Vilniaus where host SKM I (2-1) crushed league's leader Panevezio (3-1) 94-71 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panevezio. The game without a history. SKM I led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Panevezio's 40. SKM I forced 20 Panevezio turnovers and outrebounded them 48-21 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Forward Ernestas Matulevic (200-2005) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Forward Nojus Kuliesa (185) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four SKM I players scored in double figures. SKM I's coach Ignas Pagalys felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arnas Stankevicius (-2005) produced 23 points and 5 assists and Kristupas Dula (-2005) added 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks respectively for lost side. SKM I moved-up to sixth place. Panevezio at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Perkunas and VKKM. They were replaced at the leadership position by VKM. Panevezio will play next round against league's leader VKM trying to make it back to the top of the standings. SKM I will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Tornado KM in Kaunas.
