Regular Season Round 1: Kyiv Basket - Zaporizhye 88-65

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Zaporizhye on the court of Kyiv Basket on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kyiv Basket 88-65. The game was mostly controlled by Kyiv Basket. Zaporizhye managed to win fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyiv Basket forced 22 Zaporizhye turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Nazar Kisilchuk (195-1997) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. Ihor Dubonenko (197-1998, agency: BIG) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Roman Morozov (204-1998) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Vitaliy Telcharov (181-1996) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Zaporizhye. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kyiv Basket are looking forward to face Cherkasy at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaporizhye will play against Stariy Lutsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
