Regular Season Round 2: Galatasaray - Buyukcekmece 74-67

There was a minor upset when Buyukcekmece lost to Galatasaray in Istanbul 67-74 on Sunday. Efe Vatan (-2004) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Ata Gul (-2005) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals. Galatasaray's coach Sinan Omeroglu used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals by guard Can Kurt (180-2003) did not help to save the game for Buyukcekmece. Goksan Erdeger (-2004) added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. Galatasaray will meet Bahcesehir in the next round where they are favorite. Buyukcekmece will play against Ozel Gelisim Koleji and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
