Regular Season Round 7: BG TVO / Jahn - Aachen 90-83

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked BG TVO / Jahn (4-3) defeated 14th ranked Aachen (1-6) in Lindhorst 90-83 on Saturday. Aachen trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 17-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-90 at the end of the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BG TVO / Jahn made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Shawn Scott (185-1996, college: SW Christian) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Syrian center Mohammed Atli (203-1995) accounted for 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side. Worth to mention Scott played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Swingman Tim Schoenborn (193-1990) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Max Boldt (192-1991) added 24 points and 4 steals respectively for Aachen in the defeat. BG TVO / Jahn moved-up to third place, which they share with 10 other teams. Aachen lost their third game in a row. Aachen at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Bergedorf. BG TVO / Jahn will meet Bonn 2 (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aachen will play against Koeln DTV (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
