Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Bonn 2 (3-4) was outscored by first ranked ETB Miners (6-1) in Essen 105-77 on Saturday. ETB Miners dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Bonn 2's 34. They outrebounded Bonn 2 50-21 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. ETB Miners looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-1999) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Bulgarian Milen Zahariev (190-1992) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. ETB Miners' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jamel McAllister (201-1991, college: WSSU) came up with 25 points and Mamadou Diallo (190-2003) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Bonn 2 in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for ETB Miners. They maintain first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Stade. Loser Bonn 2 dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. ETB Miners will meet Muenster 2 (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bonn 2 will play against BG TVO / Jahn (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
