Regular Season Round 7: Ovarense - Sporting 72-94

The game between second ranked Ovarense (5-2) and leader Sporting (5-0) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Ovarense was crushed by Sporting in Ovar 72-94. Sporting looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard DJ Fenner (198-1993, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marcus LoVett Jr (183-1996, college: St.John's) contributed with 24 points and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Jordan Robertson (190-1996, college: Colgate, agency: Green Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and forward Candido Sa (206-1992, college: Rutgers) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Ovarense. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sporting have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Benfica. Ovarense at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Oliveirense. Sporting is looking forward to face Lusitania (#6) in Angra in the next round. Ovarense will play on the road against Imortal in Albufeira and is hoping to win this game.
