Everything could happen in Karlsruhe at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Coburg and 10th ranked Arvato College Wizards had identical 1-3 record. But Arvato College Wizards were not able to use a home court advantage and were smashed by the opponent from Coburg 106-80 on Saturday night. Coburg made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Coburg outrebounded Arvato College Wizards 36-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized American point guard Tyreese Blunt (192-2002) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. Spanish point guard Jose Carrasco (185-1994) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. Four Coburg players scored in double figures. Malik Kudic (202-1999) produced 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Christoph Rupp (195-1994) added 24 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Coburg (2-3) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ehingen. Loser Arvato College Wizards dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. They share it with Schwelm and Ludwigsburg. Coburg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Arvato College Wizards will play against Kangaroos (#4) in Diedorf and hope to win that game.
