Regular Season Round 7: Mannheim - Kronberg 81-59

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Kronberg (0-7) was outscored on the road by fourth ranked Mannheim (5-2) 81-59 on Sunday. Mannheim dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Kronberg's 22. Mannheim forced 21 Kronberg turnovers and outrebounded them 49-26 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-1992) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Point guard Joris Bestert (186-2002) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Mannheim players scored in double figures. Mannheim's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Frederik Fischbach (182-2002) came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Eritrean forward Jonathan Mesghna (198-1989, college: MSUB) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Kronberg in the defeat. Mannheim moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Kronberg lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Giessen Ak.. Mannheim will meet Giessen Ak. (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
