Regular Season Round 4: Illiabum - Galomar 87-84

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Galomar (3-1) in Ilhavo on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Illiabum (3-1) 87-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Galomar. Illiabum made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Galomar turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by Galomar helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Vante Hendrix (196, college: CSUN) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds and Andre Silva (194-2001) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard DeAndre Jones (180, college: St.Louis) responded with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and naturalized Brazilian Joao Gallina (192-1994) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Illiabum moved-up to second place, which they share with Portimonense and Galomar. Illiabum is looking forward to face Maia Basket (#6) on the road in the next round. Galomar will play against Academica (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
