Regular Season Round 6: Crailsheim - Weissenfels 119-102

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Hakro Merlins (2-4) won against 13th ranked MBC (1-4) in Crailsheim 119-102 on Saturday. Hakro Merlins made 29-of-33 free shots (87.9 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Jaren Lewis (201-1996, college: ACU) notched a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and point guard Otis Livingston II (180-1996, college: GMU) supported him with 21 points and 4 assists. Even 21 points and 5 rebounds by swingman Kris Clyburn (198-1996, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for MBC. Tremmell Darden (194-1981, college: Niagara) added 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Hakro Merlins and four MBC players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hakro Merlins moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Bayreuth and Wuerzburg. MBC lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. They share it with Braunschweig. Hakro Merlins will meet higher ranked Chemnitz (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MBC will play against Bayern Muenchen (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
