Regular Season Round 5: Raiders - BBU Salzburg 86-77

First defeat of league's leader BBU (4-1) against fifth ranked Raiders Tirol (4-1) 86-77 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BBU. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But BBU won third quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BBU 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Raiders Tirol made 7 blocks. Slovenian guard Ziga Habat (193-1997, college: Highland, IL) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Slovenian forward Gasper Rojko (200-1996) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Raiders Tirol's coach Amir Medinov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Drew Koka (196-1998) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Adrian Mitchell (189-1995) added 23 points and 6 assists in the effort for BBU. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raiders Tirol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mustangs and BBU Salzburg. BBU will play next round against KOS trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Raiders Tirol will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Future Team in Steiermark.
