Regular Season Round 6: Hopsi Polzela - Ilirija 96-91

Hopsi Polzela has finally registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Ilirija (2-4) 96-91 on Saturday. Ilirija trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 26-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 91-96 at the end of the game. Guard Jure Pelko (189-1990) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Jure Besedic (207-1992) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Primoz Kmetic (192-2001) with 22 points and 5 rebounds and center Matic Mikus (207-2003) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Hopsi Polzela and five Ilirija players scored in double figures. Hopsi Polzela (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Ilirija at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Terme Olimia. Hopsi Polzela are looking forward to face league's leader Krka in Novo Mesto in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ilirija will play at home against Sencur Gor. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
