Regular Season Round 5: Academic PL - Montana 35-102

Bottom-ranked Academic PL (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 102-35 loss to second ranked Montana (4-1) in Plovdiv. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Academic PL's 22. Montana forced 31 Academic PL turnovers and outrebounded them 40-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Academic PL's players. International center Aleksandra Petrova (190-1998) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Vanina Vasileva (168-2003) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds, 14 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Five Montana players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Montana. Newly promoted Montana maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Beroe. Academic PL lost their fifth game in a row. Academic PL will play at home against Rilski Sportist and hopes to get finally their first victory.
