Regular Season Round 6: Bayern - Bayreuth 81-68

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Bayern Muenchen (5-1) defeated 10th ranked Bayreuth (2-4) in Munich 81-68 on Sunday. American point guard Cassius Winston (185-1997, college: Michigan St.) notched 19 points to lead the effort and the other American import center Freddie Gillespie (206-1997, college: Baylor) supported him with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) by American point guard Brandon Childress (183-1997, college: Wake Forest) did not help to save the game for Bayreuth. Canadian Jackson Rowe (201-1997, college: CS Fullerton) added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bayern Muenchen moved-up to third place, which they share with Ludwigsburg. Loser Bayreuth dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. They share it with Crailsheim and Wuerzburg. Bayern Muenchen will meet MBC (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bayreuth will play against Braunschweig (#14) and hope to secure a win.
