Regular Season Round 5: Aliaga Petkim - Anadolu Efes 63-80

Everything went according to plan when leader Anadolu Efes (5-0) defeated 5th ranked Petkim Spor (2-3) in Izmir 80-63 on Friday. Anadolu Efes forced 19 Petkim Spor turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Anadolu Efes made 7 blocks. Naturalized Serbian forward Tolga Kay (193-2004, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 11 points and 9 assists for the winning side and center Mehmet Demirel (214-2005) accounted for 18 points. Yigit Kaba (-2006) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and Murat Tor (-2003) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Petkim Spor in the defeat. Five Anadolu Efes and four Petkim Spor players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Anadolu Efes. They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Tofas and Gaziantep.
