Regular Season Round 4: LSU-Kaunas - Vilniaus univ. 76-60

An interesting game for LSU-Kaunas (3-0) which hosted in Kaunas one of their biggest challengers Vilniaus univ. (3-1). Top-ranked LSU-Kaunas had an easy win 76-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vilniaus univ.. LSU-Kaunas forced 24 Vilniaus univ. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Kriste Timofejeva (180-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals and guard Migle Kisarauskaite (184-2005) who added 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four LSU-Kaunas players scored in double figures. LSU-Kaunas' coach Kornelija Balciunaite allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side German forward Lea-Sophie Maria Pfeifer (178-2000) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and center Ieva Savickaite (191-1996) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. LSU-Kaunas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record having just one victory less than leader Panevezio. Vilniaus univ. at the other side keeps the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Alytaus. LSU-Kaunas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vilniaus univ. will play at home against Druskininku and hopes to get back on the winning track.
