Regular Season Round 12: Stekas - Neptunas-Akv. 83-71

Bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-71 loss to ninth ranked Stekas (5-5) in Vilnius. They also forced 21 Neptunas-Akv. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for forward Karolis Brusokas (202-1991) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Paulius Semaska (184-1993) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Five Stekas players scored in double figures. Stekas' coach Tomas Purlys used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Oskaras Pleikys (202-2001, agency: BIG) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Matas Repsys (205-2002) added 16 points in the effort for Neptunas-Akv.Stekas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kretinga. Neptunas-Akv. at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Stekas will play against Delikatesas (#12) in Joniskis in the next round where they are favorite. Neptunas-Akv. will play on the road against Rytas 2 in Vilnius and hopes to get finally their first victory.
