Regular Season Round 8: Lokomotiv Pl. - Vihar Aytos 55-89

The most shocking disappointment of round 8 in the BBL Division A was a home defeat of 4th ranked Lokomotiv Pl. (2-4) by sixth ranked Vihar Aytos (3-3) who outscored them by 34 points 89-55. Vihar Aytos outrebounded Lokomotiv Pl. 46-29 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Vihar Aytos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Lokomotiv Pl.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Konstantin Koev (196-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Stoyan Petkov (198-1985) who added 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Vihar Aytos' coach Decho Koeshinov felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mario Yurukov (196-1993) responded with 17 points and power forward Nikolay Nedyalkov (200-1995) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Vihar Aytos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mambas. Lokomotiv Pl. at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Enigma Fireworks. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
