An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 6th ranked Voluntari in a game versus Steaua B. (#5) 79-77. Voluntari was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Steaua B. made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Serbian point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (185-1996) notched 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (198-1989) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points and 6 assists by American Tekele Cotton (188-1993, college: Wichita St.) did not help to save the game for Voluntari. His fellow American import forward Terry Larrier (203-1995, college: UConn) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Voluntari players scored in double figures. Steaua B. (3-2) moved-up to third place. Loser Voluntari keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Pitesti and Craiova. Steaua B. will meet at home league's leader Timisoara in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Voluntari will play against Constanta (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
