Regular Season Round 7: BSW Sixers - Rhoendorf 87-78

An interesting game for Sixers (5-1) which hosted in Sandersdorf 3rd placed Dragons Rhoendorf (4-2). Second ranked Sixers managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dragons Rhoendorf. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sixers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Dragons Rhoendorf's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-1987, college: FPU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Marco Rahn (199-1998) contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Florian Koch (197-1992) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Nicolas Buchholz (200-2001) added 17 points in the effort for Dragons Rhoendorf. Five Sixers and four Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Sixers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Koblenz. Dragons Rhoendorf at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Sixers are looking forward to face Herford (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against Rist Wedel (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
