Rather predictable result when seventh ranked 46ers (5-3) won against 11th ranked Kirchheim Knights (3-5) in Giessen 86-74 on Saturday. The winners were led by Serbian forward Stefan Fundic (200-1994, agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Justin Martin (199-1990, college: SMU) supported him with 20 points. Even a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by American center Tyrone Nash (203-1988, college: Notre Dame) did not help to save the game for Kirchheim Knights. His fellow American import point guard Richard Williams Jr (178-1987, college: SDSU) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. 46ers moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Kirchheim Knights dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. 46ers will meet SparkassenStars (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kirchheim Knights will play against Leverkusen and hope to secure a win.
