There was a small surprise in Aarhus where ninth ranked BAC (3-4) defeated 7th ranked Vaerlose (3-5) 74-69 on Saturday. BAC forced 24 Vaerlose turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Keane Thomann (211-1989, college: MSSU) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Magnus Madsen (200-2003) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. BAC's coach Thomas Hemmingsen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Mikkel Hauge (192-1999, college: Seattle) with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Balsa Veljic (184-2000) scored 11 points. BAC moved-up to seventh place. Vaerlose lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. BAC will meet at home Copenhagen (#9) in the next round. Vaerlose will play against Holbaek and hope to secure a win.
