Regular Season Round 7: Vienna - St.Poelten 76-71

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked BC Vienna as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Gmunden Swans) loss. BC Vienna defeated 6th ranked UBC St. Poelten at home 76-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UBC St. Poelten. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-22. But UBC St. Poelten won second period 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BC Vienna won last quarter 16-13. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for international guard Bogic Vujosevic (192-1992) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 assists. The former international center Jozo Rados (206-1993) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four BC Vienna players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Chris Ferguson (206-1989, college: Mid-Continent) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Mike Holton Jr (186-1990, college: St.Michael's) scored 16 points. BC Vienna (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Oberwart and UBSC Graz. UBC St. Poelten at the other side keeps the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Klosterneuburg. UBC St. Poelten will play next round against Dukes trying to get back on the winning streak. BC Vienna will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Nord Dragonz at Eisenstadt.
