Regular Season Round 8: Jance - Postojna 83-72

Very predictable result in Ljubljana where third ranked Jance (5-1) defeated bottom-ranked Postojna (1-6) 83-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Jance. Postojna managed to win fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jance dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Postojna's 28. They outrebounded Postojna 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was power forward Jure Licen (197-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Jurij Visnikar (187-2003) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Four Jance players scored in double figures. Point guard Peter Meze (183-2001) produced 34 points (!!!) and forward Miha Kodric (196-1997) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Postojna's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jance have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Postojna lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Celje. Jance's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ljubljana Slovan.
