Regular Season Round 7: Wolmirstedt - Herford 83-99

Herford's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Wolmirstedt (4-3) on the road game in Wolmirstedt 99-83. Wolmirstedt was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Omar Zemhoute (194-1991) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American Herman Hightower (198-1996, college: MWSU) helped adding 26 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Mubarak Salami (198-1996) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Bill Borekambi (199-1992, college: Sequoias CC) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Herford and five Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. Wolmirstedt's coach Eiko Potthast rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Herford (1-5) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with OrangeAcad. Wolmirstedt at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Leitershofen and Bball Loewen. Herford will play against league's second-placed Sixers in Sandersdorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wolmirstedt will play on the road against Schwelm and hopes to get back on the winning track.
