Regular Season Round 8: Tuebingen - Hagen 91-61

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tigers as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Rasta Vechta) loss. Tigers smashed 3rd ranked Phoenix Hagen in Tuebingen 91-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Phoenix Hagen. Tigers made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Phoenix Hagen 43-27 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Phoenix Hagen's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Finnish point guard Aatu Kivimaki (185-1997, agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 assists and naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Tigers players scored in double figures. American guard Grayson Murphy (191-1999, college: Belmont) responded with 5 points and 8 rebounds and Marvin Omuvwie (195-1997) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Vechta. Phoenix Hagen at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Phoenix Hagen will play next round against Duesseldorf trying to get back on the winning streak. Tigers will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Artland Dragons at Quakenbrueck.
