Undefeated leader Zalgiris II delivered the thirteenth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Palanga (6-8) 65-55 in Kaunas. They outrebounded Palanga 40-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dovydas Butka (202-2003) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Liutauras Lelevicius (201-2003) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Center Tadas Budrys (205-2002) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Zac Owens (180-1998, college: Bethel, IN) scored 7 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris II (13-0) have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 13 victories in a row. Palanga lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Vilkaviskis. Zalgiris II will meet Silute (#4) on the road in the next round. Palanga will play against Rytas 2 and hope to secure a win.
