Regular Season Round 7: Mersin - Mamak 72-65

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Mersin (6-1) defeated at home 11th ranked Mamak (2-5) 72-65 on Saturday. Mersin made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Mersin outrebounded Mamak 43-23 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Tobin Carberry (193-1991, college: LIU Post) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). His fellow American import power forward Aaron Jones (206-1993, college: Ole Miss) helped adding 5 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American point guard Myles Mack (178-1993, college: Rutgers) responded with 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Mertcan Solkol (195-1996) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mersin. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Samsunspor and Cagdas BS. Mamak lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
