Marijampoles can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Birzu (1-6) 86-74. Birzu was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 30-14 charge of Marijampoles, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adrijus Janciauskas (181-2005) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Augustas Merkys (194-2005) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Dovydas Kacinskas (185-2005) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Danielius Mulevicius (195-2006) added 19 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Birzu. Four Birzu players scored in double figures. Marijampoles (1-5) left bottom position moving up to tenth place. It was Birzu's sixth loss in a row. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Marijampoles will play against higher ranked Tornado KM (#9) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Birzu will have a break next round.
