There was no surprise in Oldenburg where 9th ranked BG Goettingen (3-3) was defeated by fifth ranked EWE Baskets (5-2) 93-75 on Sunday. EWE Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BG Goettingen's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Tanner Leissner (201-1995, college: UNH) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Dewayne Russell (180-1994, college: GCU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Mark Smith (193-1999, college: Kansas St.) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and Geno Crandall (191-1996, college: Gonzaga) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. BG Goettingen's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. EWE Baskets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ludwigsburg.
