The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rm Valcea II as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rm Valcea II defeated 4th ranked Sibiu 2 in Ramnicu Valcea 72-62. The game was mostly controlled by Rm Valcea II. Sibiu 2 managed to win third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Anton Rotaru (188-2002) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American Ajay Singh (199, college: Westmont, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Vlad Georgescu (-2000) replied with 19 points and point guard Bogdan Baditascu (185-2005) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sibiu 2. Rm Valcea II (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Politehnica Iasi. Sibiu 2 at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Bucuresti E.. Sibiu 2 will play next round against strong Cluj CSU trying to get back on the winning streak. Rm Valcea II will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Phoenix Corona in Brasov.
