Very predictable result in Istanbul where second ranked Turk Telekom (7-1) defeated 14th ranked Besiktas (2-6) 91-75 on Saturday. They outrebounded Besiktas 34-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Tyrique Jones (206-1997, college: Xavier, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Tony Taylor (184-1990, college: GWU) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Turk Telekom's coach Erdem Can used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center David McCormack (208-1999, college: Kansas) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jordan Usher (201-1999, college: Georgia Tech) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Turk Telekom have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Loser Besiktas keeps the fourteenth place with six games lost. Turk Telekom will meet at home Tofas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
