Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Gladiators (2-7) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Science City Jena (6-3) 101-86 on Saturday. Science City Jena shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Gladiators' players. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Vuk Radojicic (184-2001, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists. Stephan Haukohl (203-1993, agency: LUMANI 10.7) chipped in 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American Parker Van Dyke (191-1994, college: Utah) who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Garai Zeeb (187-1997) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Science City Jena moved-up to third place, which they share with Giessen and Hagen. Loser Gladiators dropped to the fifteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bochum and Leverkusen. Science City Jena will meet at home Phoenix Hagen (#5) in the next round. Gladiators will play against SparkassenStars (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
