Regular Season Round 16: Neptunas-Akv. - Palanga 75-80

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Palanga (7-9) beat bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (2-14) in Klaipeda 80-75 on Saturday. The winners were led by American point guard Zac Owens (180-1998, college: Bethel, IN) who scored that evening 28 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Ernestas Jaskus (195-2000) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Palanga players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 6 rebounds by Gabrielius Mazeika (206-2003) did not help to save the game for Neptunas-Akv.. Gediminas Lesciauskas (197-2001) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Alfredas Kaniava rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palanga moved-up to eighth place. Loser Neptunas-Akv. stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Palanga will meet higher ranked Vytis (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Kretinga (#11) and hope to secure a win.
