Regular Season Round 16: Mazeikiai - Silute 72-61

NKL round 16 most important game was a victory of Mazeikiai over 4th ranked Silute 72-61 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Silute. Worth to mention a great performance of Karolis Guscikas (206-1992, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Arturas Jomantas (200-1985) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Mazeikiai's coach Osvaldas Kurauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Josh Alexander (202-2000, college: American) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Linas Lekavicius (185-1984, college: American) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Silute. Mazeikiai (7-8) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vilkaviskis. Silute at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Mazeikiai is looking forward to face higher ranked Vytis (#5) in Sakiai in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Silute will play at home against Delikatesas and is hoping to win this game.
