Regular Season Round 9: Tuebingen - Artland 73-70

The most exciting game of round 9 in the ProA took place in Tuebingen. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Artland Dragons (5-4) to first ranked Tigers (8-1) 73-70 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Artland Dragons. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Artland Dragons' players. Austrian Erol Ersek (195-1999) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and center Daniel Keppeler (205-1997, college: Regnitztal) chipped in 15 points. The best for the losing side was American guard William Christmas (196-1996, college: CPP) with 15 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the other American import forward DeVondre Perry (196-1999, college: Albany) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record, which they share with Vechta. Artland Dragons at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Tigers is looking forward to face Lions (#10) in Karlsruhe in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play at home against Kirchheim Knights (#12) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
