Regular Season Round 8: Ehingen - SC Wizards 86-80

There was no surprise in Allmendingen where 11th ranked Arvato College Wizards (2-6) were defeated by seventh ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (4-3) 86-80 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ehingen/Urspringschule looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Arvato College Wizards' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ehingen/Urspringschule made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was point guard Erik Penteker (183-2002) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists. Luxembourg point guard Ivan Delgado (193-1998) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Christoph Rupp (195-1994) produced 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Christian Rodriguez (180-1999, college: Cornerstone) added 15 points and 10 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ehingen/Urspringschule moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Arvato College Wizards keep the eleventh position with six games lost.
