Bottom-ranked Sangalhos is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to sixth ranked Esgueira (5-4) 74-61 on Saturday evening. Esgueira forced 20 Sangalhos turnovers. American forward Ryan Ogden (193-1996, college: Southwestern) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Trevon Evans (183-1995, college: Sioux Falls) supported him with 26 points. Ogden is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Esgueira's coach Pedro Costa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 9 points and 8 rebounds by Angolan forward Leonel Paulo (197-1989) did not help to save the game for Sangalhos. Cape Verdean Anderson Correia (195-1997) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Esgueira have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Esgueira maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. Sangalhos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with nine games lost. Esgueira will meet league's leader Benfica in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sangalhos will play against Sporting (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
