The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Cagdas BS as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Cagdas BS defeated 13th ranked Kocaeli in Mugla 77-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kocaeli. Cagdas BS looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Chris Warren (177-1988, college: Ole Miss) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 assists. The other American import center Horace Spencer (206-1997, college: Auburn, agency: Verus Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American guard Desure Buie (185-1997, college: Hofstra) replied with 14 points and 9 assists and center Eren Beyaz (208-1985) added 16 points in the effort for Kocaeli. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cagdas BS (7-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Samsunspor and Mersin. Kocaeli at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Kocaeli will play next round against Gemlik trying to get back on the winning streak. Cagdas BS will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Bornova in Izmir.
