There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Konyaspor (4-4) beat at home higher ranked Socar Petkim (4-4) 89-84 on Sunday. Konyaspor made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Slovenian center Jordan Morgan (204-1991, college: Michigan) who scored 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Nigerian-American Rasheed Sulaimon (193-1994, college: Maryland) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Jeremy Simmons (204-1989, college: Charleston) produced 23 points and point guard Ismail Ulusoy (183-1996) added 7 points and 13 assists respectively for the guests. Five Konyaspor and four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Konyaspor moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Tofas and Petkim. Konyaspor will meet higher ranked Dacka (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Socar Petkim will play against Manisa and hope to secure a win.
