There was no surprise in Istanbul where 9th ranked Elazig Karabulut (6-6) was defeated by second ranked Fenerbahce G. (10-2) 65-48 on Friday. Fenerbahce G. outrebounded Elazig Karabulut 39-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Idil Sacalir (178-2002) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Serbian Mina Djordjevic (188-1999) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Fenerbahce G.'s coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Gulfer Tokatli (193-2002) with 7 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Ameryst Alston (175-1993, college: Ohio St.) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Fenerbahce G. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record behind leader Tarsus, which they share with Botas GA. Newly promoted Elazig Karabulut keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Fenerbahce G. will meet Urla (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Elazig Karabulut will play against Diba Ankara (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
