Regular Season Round 9: Galatasaray - Gaziantep 77-110

U19 League top team - Gaziantep (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Galatasaray (5-4) in Istanbul 110-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Galatasaray. Gaziantep dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 42. Gaziantep forced 25 Galatasaray turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Dogukan Orgun (-2005) nailed 20 points and 8 assists for the winning side and Arda Birkeser (-2005) accounted for 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Rafi Oralkan (-2005) came up with 14 points and 9 assists and Berke Ismailcebi (-2004) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Galatasaray in the defeat. Five Gaziantep and four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Gaziantep. They maintain first place with 9-0 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Loser Galatasaray keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Gaziantep will meet Antalya Gelism (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Galatasaray will play against the league's second-placed Ozel Gelisim Koleji and hope to secure a win.
