Regular Season Round 9: Koeln - BSW Sixers 77-70

The biggest surprise took place in Koeln where host RheinStars (5-4) beat league's leader Sixers (6-2) 77-70 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sixers. RheinStars forced 20 Sixers turnovers. The best player for the winners was Canadian point guard Ali Sow (185-1998, college: Laurier) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. Point guard Rupert Hennen (184-1997) chipped in 15 points. RheinStars' coach Stephan Baeck used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian point guard Aleksa Kovacevic (187-2002) who recorded 19 points and American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-1987, college: FPU) added 14 points respectively. Four Sixers players scored in double figures. RheinStars maintains seventh place with 5-4 record. Sixers at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Oberhaching. They were replaced at the leadership position by Bernau. Sixers will play next round against Eagles trying to make it back to the top of the standings. RheinStars will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked SSV Lok Bernau on the road.
